Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.
Summer is my favorite time of the year to have people over. There are so many special occasions to celebrate. Whether it’s Memorial Day, graduation parties, birthday parties, backyard BBQ’s and campfires, or pool parties—there’s always a reason to have friends over! Party Host Helpers Central Pennsylvania has been having a blast helping hosts at some stellar parties this year. Not only that, we’ve had some wonderful opportunities to join a few local wedding venues for spring open houses. Summer Party Tips for Your Next Backyard Get Together
Backyard games, great food and campfires are the epitome of summer living. Some of my favorite summer party tips to make your backyard get-together memorable include lighting, games and, of course, food!
Party Lights
Hang big bulb, backyard patio lights near your firepit. Hang them in the trees and use an extension cord to provide lovely ambiance. Not only does this make for a cozy and picturesque place to relax and enjoy the company of your guests, but it also provides enough light for the food table and spreading out around the area.
Party Games
Games to entertain your guests are a must-have! Party-goers love playing games, so every good party should have a few fun options. The best thing about summer party hosting is spending time outdoors. So, set up a volleyball net or grab a ladder ball or corn hole set and have some fun. If it rains, don’t worry! It’s easy to move the game options inside. Charades, Catch Phrase or dice are a quick and easy plan B to inclement weather. If there’s anything to remember when hosting and planning events, it’s: be flexible!
Party Food
A party favorite snack to eat over a fire pit are fire-roasted sweet bologna cubes. Grab some sweet bologna from the store, cut it up (if necessary) and put it on a hot dog stick to roast over the fire. It’s juicy, warm and the edges roast to be perfectly crispy. It’s delicious and sure to take your backyard summer shindigs to the next level.
Party Drinks
Keep drinks simple and fresh. Grab some fresh mint and make homemade mint iced tea — it’s cool, refreshing, and a nice reprieve from the heat! Here’s my favorite mint tea recipe.
