Outdoor Crafts & Activities
Fall is right around the corner, which means your kids will be heading back to school soon! Perfect time to throw a final summer bash before school starts – end the summer with a bang! Why not bring everyone together for an outdoor craft and activity party? The kids will love getting involved and it’s less cleanup for you. Here are a few of our favorite activities that are easy to put together, and will keep the kids busy all day long.
DIY Slip and Slide
Since it is still so hot out, this is a great way to keep the kids entertained and it’s inexpensive! Grab a roll of thick plastic sheeting from your local Home Depot, pool noodles, Velcro and a hose. Check out this article for instructions on how to put it together!
Squirt Gun Painting
Get some water guns from your local Dollar Store, and fill with a range of different watercolors. Grab some watercolor paper and either stick outside on an easel or pin it to a tree. The kids will love using water guns for something other than water!
Sun Print Cards
All you need is a sun print kit purchased from Amazon, a paint brush or roller, and plants from around your back yard! The kids will love running around finding their favorite flowers and leaves to decorate the paper. While waiting for the print to develop in the sun, they can move onto the next activity!
Rainbow Bubble Art
This is a super easy way to keep the kids occupied! Fill a few bowls with bubble mix, add a few drops of food coloring, and grab some white construction paper. The kids will love blowing the bubbles onto the paper, and watching them pop into works of art! All the supplies can be purchased from your local arts and crafts store such as Michaels or AC Moore.
You can either get a kite building kit from Amazon, or find some plain ones from your local dollar store. Grab some paint, markers, glitter, stickers, etc. and let the kids customize their own. They will love bringing their new kite on the next trip to the beach!
